Hockey cards are returning to Tim Hortons stores in Canada beginning Thursday. The 2020-21 promotion will once again put packs of Upper Deck-made/Tim Horton’s branded cards into thousands of stores across Canada.
It’s the sixth year for the promotion, which is limited to Tim Hortons restaurants in Canada.
Among this year’s highlights: 87 randomly inserted autographed cards of Sidney Crosby and 100 of Nathan MacKinnon plus 12,000 Wayne Gretzky Tribute cards commemorating his final season with the Edmonton Oilers.
A full checklist is available for download below.
2020-21 Tim Hortons Hockey Card Configuration and Base Set
Packs are sold in stores at a cost of $1 with a purchase or $1.99 without. Each pack contains three cards with special inserts and autograph cards possible.
There are 125 cards to collect in this season’s base set, including card #1 featuring Tim Horton. This year’s cards are printed on foilboard stock.
Fans of Upper Deck’s Series 1 and 2 flagship set will recognize the Canvas inserts that are part of the 2020-21 Tim Hortons set. Other 15-card sets include Cup Winners, All Star Standouts, Gold Etchings and Clear Cut Phenoms, which are printed on acetate stock. Franchise Trios are done on lenticular (3-D style) stock.

While the promotion doesn’t officially begin until Thursday, some cards, 100-pack boxes and sets have already made their way to eBay. It’s about the only way collectors outside of Canada can latch onto them, especially this year. You can see the current listings here. At the bottom of this page we also have a live list of the 100 most watched Tim Hortons cards being auctioned.
New Collect To Win Program
With every eligible purchase of a pack of cards, registered Tims Rewards members can take part in the Collect to Win program on the Tim Hortons app and have a chance to win prizes including a trip for two to the 2021 Stanley Cup Final, or a VIP trip for two to watch an NHL game and meet Sidney Crosby.
To play, guests must be a registered Tims Rewards member and scan their app or physical Tims Rewards card when they purchase a pack of cards. They will receive a digital pack in the Tim Hortons app for each pack of cards they purchase, which can be opened to receive a ballot to be entered for the chance to win prizes. Collect to Win begins on Thursday and ends on Dec. 31.
Non-members can still earn a digital pack on eligible purchases of hockey cards with an unlinked Tims Rewards card. Once you register and link your Tim Rewards card to a digital account (by downloading the Tim Hortons app or visiting www.timhortons.ca/signup) your earned digital packs will show up in your account.
