The new season is just days away, but the 2020-21 NBA trading card products are still pushing through the pipeline. Panini Chronicles Basketball is on the way, with a pair of autographs inside each hobby box. A Draft Picks version was released earlier.
Each box of 2020-21 Chronicles NBA will have six packs, with eight cards per pack and 12 boxes per case. Autographs will include rookies, veterans and former greats.
As usual, Chronicles is actually a hodgepodge of cards designed on the backs of previously released Panini brands, brought together under the Chronicles name. Plates & Patches, Majestic, Limited, Gala, Titanium, Gold Standard, Prizm Update and Donruss Optic Traded are some of those designs that will be represented in this year’s Chronicles NBA. Gala, Titanium and Gold Standard will be rare and exclusive to hobby boxes. Panini says there will be 1/1 Platinum parallels for “a variety” of base sets.
Phoenix Rookie Autographs is a new addition this year and will be “rare” according to Panini. National Pride Autographs are also new and will feature players from various countries who have had success in the league.
Airborne Signatures showcase images of players going above the rim while Playoff Hall of Fame Autographs focus on the game’s all-time greats with a shout out to the familiar brand best known for football.
Rookies Cornerstones cards feature last season’s first year standouts paired with an autograph and four swatches of memorabilia. Hometown Heroes is another subset with rookie ink.
2020-21 Panini Cornerstones NBA has a $250 per box SRP and is currently scheduled for release on November 17.
