They’re all there. No buying or trading required.
Collectors will again have a no frills way to collect the baseball cards this summer with the arrival of 2019 Topps baseball complete factory sets. The annual release is set for July 3 with two (and perhaps more) versions of the company’s flagship set on sale.
As usual, each set will include all cards from Topps Series 1 and 2 (700 in all) in a specially designed corrugated box. The cards will be identical to those sold in wax packs, but there will once again be a cello-wrapped bonus pack that’s unique to the factory set.
Hobby versions of the factory set will have a pack of five random cards that are printed on foil board stock and serial numbered. Retail versions of the set—those sold primarily inside places like Target and Walmart—will have their own five-card pack made up of rookie cards with different photos than are found on the player’s regular trading card. There’s no word yet on the checklist.
Both sets will come packed 12 per case with individual sets typically priced at $45-$55. You can see pre-sale offers on eBay here. Topps usually also creates a third version of the factory set that’s designed to be sold at the annual MLB All-Star Game.
