The 2019 edition of Topps Definitive will arrive earlier than this year’s issue. Topps has plans for a May 29 release date for the all-hit product that ranks as one of the higher end releases on the baseball card calendar. The 2018 edition was released in early July.

2019 Topps Definitive Basics
Packing eight cards per single-pack box, Definitive offers six on-card autographs or cut signatures along with two relic cards. Look for boxes to land at around $1,000 to start. Each case will include three boxes.
Each card in the product is numbered to no more than 50.
Autographed Relic Cards
Base Autograph Relic cards will feature large relic pieces and on-card autographs with a checklist of around 45 top rookies and veterans and including:
- Green Parallel – #’d to 25
- Purple Parallel – #’d to 10
- Team Logo Red Parallel – #’d 1/1
- MLB® Logo Red Parallel – #’d 1/1
- Majestic Logo Red Parallel – #’d 1/1
- Jersey Button Red Parallel – #’d 1/1
- Laundry Tag Red Parallel – #’d 1/1
There’s also another version with top-level veterans and retired greats, all numbered no higher than 25 and including:
- Green Parallel – #’d to 10
- Purple Parallel – #’d to 5
- Red Parallel – #’d 1/1
There will be autographed booklets numbered to 5 or 1 and Framed Autograph Relics, numbered to 30 or less with Purple (# to 10) and Red (1/1) versions.
Nameplate and Patch Collection auto relics will all be 1/1.
Dual Auto Relics will be numbered to 35 or less with Purple (# to 10) and 1/1 Red versions also in the mix.
Jumbo Relic Collection autographs will feature active stars with jersey pieces that have carry MLB authentication and are from some of the special commemorative jerseys worn by teams. Parallel versions include:
Helmet Collection autographs will feature a piece of a game-used batting helmet and feature:
- Purple Parallel – #’d to 10.
- MLB Logo Red Parallel – #’d 1/1.
- Rawlings Authentic Tag Red Parallel – #’d 1/1.
- Rawlings Logo Red Parallel – #’d 1/1.
- MPH Red Parallel – #’d 1/1.
- Blue parallel – #’d to 30.
- Green parallel – #’d to 15.
- Purple parallel – #’d to 5.
- Red parallel – #’d 1/1.
Autographs
New this year are Defining Moments Autograph Collection cards, which “highlight significant career events of legendary players,” according to Topps.
Rookie Autographs will carry Green (# to 25); Purple (# to 10) and 1/1 Red Parallels
Autograph Collection feature current stars and rookies with 1/1 Red parallels.
Dual Autographs will pair two players who “share a common bond” with Green (# to 10); Purple (# to 5) and 1/1 Red versions.
Legendary Autographs will be numbered to 25 or less with Purple (# to 5) and 1/1 Red versions.
Framed Autos will include both past and present stars, all numbered to 30 or less including Purple (# to 10) and 1/1 Red parallels.
The Cut Signature checklist will include 50 old time greats, all 1/1. No word yet on which players will be included.
