Topps will search out former players and old cards once again this fall, pairing them for the 2019 edition of Archives Signature Series Retired Player Edition. The one card per box release is a follow-up to the Signature Series offering that features current players and is set for a fall release.
Each autographed card will be encapsulated and numbered with a gold foil-stamped Archives Signature Series logo on the front.
Each former player will sign directly on a card that dates from his playing career. Derek Jeter, Carl Yastzemski, Reggie Jackson, Greg Maddux, Chipper Jones and a few dozen other players are expected to be on the checklist.
The company has released a few sample images from the product, which has 20 boxes per case. Individual boxes with that single signed card can be found on eBay for around $50.
Release date for 2019 Archives Signature Series Retired Player Edition is October 2.
