Fifty-two years ago, it made its debut with an artsy cover and a price of one dollar. They’re still making them as the game’s 53rd edition approaches. The 2019 Super Bowl programs are rolling off the presses at H.O. Zimman, which has been making them now for a long time.
Super Bowl programs have become one of the signature collectible items associated with the NFL’s championship game with values for the first several editions increasing in value in recent years.
These days, a couple of different editions are produced—a National edition that you can own by locating one in a book store or other venue where they sell a lot of magazines—and a Stadium version you can only buy at the stadium or finding one online. The latter edition is a bit fancier, with updated content and the team logos on the front cover done in holographic format.
Zimman employees got to work immediately following the AFC Championship Game on Sunday night, adding content for the Patriots to the stadium edition.
This year’s program checks in at over 200 pages, with the usual team rosters and player photos as well as an in-depth analysis of both the Pats and Rams, a review of the 2018 NFL season, a game-by-game history of past Super Bowl games and more than a dozen feature stories from some of the country’s top football writers.
