The week after the NFL kicks off its regular season, 2019 Panini Spectra football will arrive, bringing its chrome look, a limited base set and some cards honoring last season’s champs.
2019 Panini Spectra Configuration
Spectra is a hit-oriented product with four packs per box, each holding four cards. Of those 16 cards, ten will feature either an autograph or memorabilia card and one will be an insert. The other five will be base or base parallels.
Base Set
There’s a 150-card base set in the works but it’ll be a challenge with each card numbered to 99. While some card designs these days are a bit psychedelic, Panini has actually named one of its parallel sets Psychedelic. They’ll be tough to find, numbered only to 5 (see example above).
The full base parallel roster includes 12 different, ranging from Neon Blue (# to 75) to 1/1 Gold versions.
Autograph Cards
Rookie Patch Autographs will feature large jersey patches and an autograph from one of the 2019 NFL Draft picks. They’ll be numbered to no higher than 99 and there are nine lower numbered parallels to chase.
There will also be Rookie Dual Patch autos which are max #’d to 30 with eight parallels numbered between 1 and 25.
Similar to RPAs, Radiant Rookie Patch Signatures will be more common pulls with each numbered to 199 and ten different lower numbered parallels.
There will be a pair of sets honoring Tom Brady and the New England Patriots. Super Bowl Champion Signatures and the Tom Brady Tribute set lead off a list that also includes on-card ink in the form of Illustrious Legends, Sky High Signatures (these appear to be focused on action shots of high-flying players) and Vested Veterans. The Brady Tribute autograph cards will highlight his six Super Bowl victories and be very limited in number.
Inserts
There will be non-autographed versions of at least some of those autograph sets including the Brady Tribute.
Other new inserts include Sky High Signatures, Afterburners, Masked Marvels, Rookie Aura and High Voltage. Nebula will be numbered no higher than 99 with 11 different lower numbered parallel versions while Rookie Aura will also be limited to 99 with eight lower numbered parallels.
