Panini America’s 2019 Gold Standard football makes its return just prior to the start of NFL training camps, once again with plenty of gold to go around.
The product, which hits hobby shops and online dealers the week of July 11, consists of one pack per box. The emphasis, as usual, is on big hits, as Panini is promising that five of those cards will either be autographs or relic cards.
2019 Panini Gold Standard Basics and Base Set
The set will include 200 base cards, and each pack will contain two base cards that will feature current stars, rookies or retired legends and will be numbered to 99 or less. The other parallels are Platinum (numbered to 75), Rose Gold (25), Emerald (10) and Black (1/1).
Autographs
The Rookie Jersey Autographs subset includes single, double and triple relic cards. Prime parallels are numbered to 49, and Tag versions are 1/1s. These cards will feature players selected during the 2019 NFL draft.
Making its debut in 2019 are the 10K Autograph and 24K Autograph cards. These cards are numbered to 49 or less, and the carat number is more than just a gold standard. The 10K cards feature players who have accumulated more than 10,000 yards during their careers, while the 24K versions are for players who have topped 24,000 career yards.
The subset has Platinum parallels numbered to 10 or less, and 1/1 versions.
Gold Strike will feature current and retired NFL stars. Each card will include an autograph and will be numbered to 99 or less. Parallels include Platinum (numbered to 49) and Black (1/1).
Playing off the gold jacket that inductees to the Pro Football Hall of Fame wear, Gold Jacket Signatures pays tribute to players who have been enshrined in Canton. The card contains two photos — one of the player in action, and one from his induction into the Hall of Fame.
These cards also have parallels in Platinum (numbered to 49) and Black (1/1).
Bullion Brand Tag Signatures are 1/1 cards that feature a star NFL player’s autograph and a large laundry tag swatch.
Switching to diamonds, this subset glitters. The Super Bowl Diamond Signatures set features a diamond embedded into a ring-like Super Bowl logo on the card, along with an autograph from a Super Bowl champion. These cards are very limited, numbered to 5. Super Bowl Diamond Duals also feature an embedded diamond, with autographs from two champions from pro football’s biggest showcase.
Panini Gold Standard is not limited to autographs. Several subsets include relics. Gold Gear, Gold Rush, Golden Pairs, Hall of Gold Threads, Mother Lode and White Gold are the subsets collectsor will be chasing. Each of these subsets have Prime parallels numbered to 49 and 1/1 Premium versions.
