The 2019 edition of National Baseball Card Day is set for Saturday. This marks the fourth year for the event, which has hobby shop, stadium and retail elements.
Collectors can stop by their local sports card store and get a free pack. The cards feature the NBCD logo and the checklist is usually heavy on top stars and rookies. One player from all 30 teams was included in each set last year. Autographed cards will be randomly inserted into packs.
Two additional cards can be obtained with the purchase of $10 or more of Topps products both this weekend and next. Bryce Harper is the freebie this week while a special Vladimir Guerrero Jr. rookie card will be handed out with that purchase on August 17. A list of participating shops is below.
Each Major League Baseball team is holding a baseball card giveaway day around the time of the hobby shop promotion, several of which have either already happened or are taking place this week (see the full list below).
Collectors can also pick up a free pack of Series 2 with a $10 purchase of Topps products at Target by downloading a free coupon here:
The Target promotion is valid from August 10-18.
At Walmart, Bowman Platinum Hangar Boxes will contain a free pack of Topps Gallery inside with cards that carry National Baseball Card Day branding. Those boxes will be available while supplies last.
