Two weeks after the National Sports Collectors Convention in Chicago, another major show will set up shop in the shadows of New York City.
The annual “East Coast National” from JP Sports and Rock Solid Promotions will bring some big name autograph guests and a large number of sports card and memorabilia dealers to the Westchester County Center in White Plains August 16-18. The 300-table show is open for a total of 26 hours, longer than most three-day weekend shows across the country.
Among the dozens of autograph guests on the schedule are Hall of Famers and other notable names from baseball, football, basketball and hockey. The list includes Joe Montana, Emmitt Smith, Jim Kelly, Michael Irvin, Deion Sanders, Walt Frazier, Jeff Bagwell, Edgar Martinez, Earl Monroe, CC Sabathia, Fred McGriff, Gary Sheffield, Luke Voit and former New York Giants from the 1980s. Mail order autographs are being offered.
1952 American League MVP Bobby Shantz, who’ll turn 94 in September, will sign free autographs with paid admissions on Saturday.
Several auction companies and all of the major grading and authentication companies are scheduled to be on hand.
Admission is $10 with kids 12 and under free. There will be free pack breaks for youngsters on Saturday and Sunday.
Show hours are 12-8 Friday; 9 AM-8 PM Saturday and 9 AM- 4 PM Sunday.
