Just in time for Christmas, 2019 Donruss Optic football will have something old and something new for collectors.
Optic gives a shiny look to the standard Donruss release. When the product is released Dec. 20, collectors can expect old standby features like Rated Rookie cards and autographs.
New to this year’s offering is Rookie Kings, which feature autographs of the top rookies in a “royalty” style design.
Collectors who appreciate the past history of Donruss will see some 20 and 30-year-old design throwbacks in the form of 1989 Tribute (# to 25) and 1999 Tribute.
A hobby box of 2019 Donruss Optic will consist of 20 packs, with four cards to a pack. Panini America is promising one autograph her hobby box and one rookie card per pack. A typical box break will include 14 rookie cards, six Rated Rookie cards, 10 parallels and four inserts in addition to the auto and base cards. A 100-card base set is planned and will be centered on veteran players.
Always one of the most sought-after rookie cards, Rated Rookies Autographs features action photography with a bold on-card autograph. Rookies collectors can expect to find include Daniel Jones, Kyler Murray, Dwayne Haskins, Nick Bosa, Marquise Brown and Josh Jacobs, among others. The Rated Rookie Autograph cards will have eight different parallels, including Holo, numbered to 99; Blue (75), Red (50), Purple (35), Black Pandora (25), Gold (10), Green (5) and Gold Vinyl (1/1).
Rookie Triple Autographs will be numbered to 25 or fewer. The 1989 Tribute Autographs will offer collectors a throwback look at today’s NFL stars in a 1989 design. Parallel and autograph versions will be numbered to 25 or less.
Exclusive to hobby boxes, Rookie Patch Autographs will be limited to 25 cards, with 1/1 Gold Vinyl parallels.
The Downtown insert will be a case hit and will showcase some unique designs. These cards also will be numbered to 25 or less, with 1/1 parallels. Other new inserts include MVP, Mythical and Power Formula.
Other hobby box exclusives include Rookie Patch Autographs, Dynamic Patch Autographs and Legendary Patch Autographs.
You’ll also find Optic in blaster box form with each having six packs of four cards. Find four Rookies, two Rated Rookies, one Rookies Pink, one Rated Rookie Pink, one Base Holo and one insert.
