2019 Bowman Platinum baseball will be arriving in stores as the calendar turns to July.
Walmart stores, that is.
Once again, Platinum is exclusive to the retail giant and its online property. It comes in two configurations: a $79.98 “Mega Box” that has 20 packs of five cards and guarantees two autographs and a $19.99 blaster box with seven four-card packs plus a four-card Ice Foilboard parallel pack with no autograph guarantee.
Mega boxes will have three base cards and two prospect inserts of some kind.

2019 Bowman Platinum has a 100-card base set but four of those cards are short-printed and all are hot rookies (Pete Alonso, Fernando Tatis, Jr., Vladimir Guerrero and Eloy Jimenez).
There are also ten Image Variations to look for (see the checklist below).
Inserts, Autographs and Relics
There are several different prospect-oriented inserts in Platinum, most of which have autographed versions. It starts with the Top Prospect set which has 100 players.
Prismatic Prodigies is a 40-card set, Renowned Rookies has a 40-card checklist; Platinum Presence has 20 and Prolific Power has 10 (yes, alliteration is big in Platinum).
There’s a 10-card Topps Gallery Preview set that offers a sneak peek of a product we assume will also be a Walmart exclusive once again in 2019. Those also have autographed versions.
Refined Autographs is another signed subset and there’s also Platinum Cuts, an autographed set produced in a die-cut style.
Platinum Pieces will have autographs and piece of memorabilia while Platinum Patches carry a swatch with some cards making room for an autograph.
