It’s arriving in the final days of the season, but there’s no doubt 2019 Bowman Chrome baseball is centered around next year–and beyond. The annual release is prospect heavy while still maintaining some veteran content.
2019 Bowman Chrome Configuration
There will gain be two configurations for Bowman Chrome–one that’s more traditional and another for those who’d just as soon skip everything but the autographs. The Master Box option has two mini boxes that will contain a total of 12 packs with five cards per pack. The HTA Choice version also returns, featuring one pack of three signed cards and nothing else. Prices for each should be somewhat similar.
2019 Bowman Chrome Base Cards and Prospects
Rookies and veterans will be featured in the base set. Both the base cards and Chrome Prospects will include eight parallels including:
• Refractor: sequentially numbered to 499.
• Purple Refractor: sequentially numbered to 250.
• Blue Refractor: sequentially numbered to 150.
• Green Refractor: sequentially numbered to 99.
• Gold Refractor: sequentially numbered to 50.
• Orange Refractor: sequentially numbered to 25.
• Red Refractor: sequentially numbered to 5.
• SuperFractor: numbered 1-of-1.
There will be Rookie Short Print Image Variations in the base set.
The Chrome Shimmer parallels will be packed one per hobby box with these parallels possible:
• Green Shimmer Refractor: sequentially numbered to 99.
• Gold Shimmer Refractor: sequentially numbered to 50.
• Orange Shimmer Refractor: sequentially numbered to 25.
• Red Shimmer Refractor: sequentially numbered to 10.
• Black Shimmer Refractor: sequentially numbered to 5.
Autographs and Inserts
Topps is promising on-card autographs featuring some of baseball’s best prospects as of 2018 and Chrome Prospects are the cards that most collectors will covet. Parallels for the 2019 Bowman Chrome Prospect Autographs in regular hobby boxes will include:
• Refractor: sequentially numbered to 499.
• Purple Refractor: sequentially numbered to 250.
• Blue Refractor: sequentially numbered to 150.
• Green Refractor: sequentially numbered to 99.
• Gold Refractor: sequentially numbered to 50.
• Orange Refractor: sequentially numbered to 25. (hobby only)
• Red Refractor: sequentially numbered to 5.
• SuperFractor: numbered 1-of-1
Some Prospect autos will be exclusive to those HTA boxes including:

Chrome Rookie Autographs will feature players who’ve already made the majors. Again, autographs should be on-card for this portion of the release. Parallels include:

• Gold Refractor: sequentially numbered to 50.
• Orange Refractor: sequentially numbered to 25.

The Rookie Short Print image variations mentioned above will also have autograph versions numbered to 25 and 1/1 SuperFractors.
Chrome Autographed Relics will showcase game-used memorabilia and an on-card signature from baseball’s top prospects, rookies and veterans. All will be sequentially numbered and include Gold (# to 50); Orange (# to 25) and 1/1 SuperFractors.
New this year are Stat Tracker and Elite Farmhands. The sequentially numbered autograph cards from these subsets will have only two parallels: Orange (# to 25) and 1/1 SuperFractors. There will also be unsigned insert cards for both subsets with Atomic Refractor parallels numbered to 150; Orange Refractors to 25 and 1/1 SuperFractors.
All-America Game Autographs are sequentially numbered to 199.
Prime Chrome Signatures will be on-card with more top prospects on the checklist. All cards will be numbered to 50 except for the 1/1 SuperFractors.
The insert content has a heavy emphasis on the players who participated in the Arizona Fall League this past season. Fall Stars will highlight some of the top performers and names. There will be standard insert cards as well as autograph versions. Parallels include:
• Atomic Refractor: sequentially numbered to 150.
• Orange Refractor: sequentially numbered to 25.
• SuperFractor: numbered 1-of-1.
Serial numbered autographs from the Arizona Fall League inserts will be part of the autograph content.
New this year are Arizona Fall League Alumni cards but they’ll be rare, falling just one per case. You’ll see some current big league stars featured with Orange Refractors (# to 25) and 1/1 SuperFractors part of the mix.
2018 Arizona Fall League MVP cards will be numbered to 250 and fairly tough pulls. Autographs numbered to 100 and 1/1 SuperFractor versions should be among the bigger pulls in the inserts content.
Arizona Fall League Fall Stars Relics will include uniform swatches from league games and include:
• Orange Parallel: sequentially numbered to 25.
• SuperFractor: numbered 1-of-1.
Autographed versions will be numbered to 25 or 1.
Boxes are available on eBay with HTA boxes costing a bit more than those with two autos.
