Panini America’s 2019-2020 Noir basketball will feature plenty of autographs and memorabilia cards.
When the product hits stores March 25, a hobby box will contain 10 cards. Of those cards, seven will be either on-card autograph cards or relic cards. An eighth card, exclusive to the online 1st Off the Line product, will be metal framed and numbered to 11.
Now a staple in Panini’s basketball line, the cards will display the traditional cinematic theme, with a Gatsby-like font. Certainly, cards labeled as Feature Length, Split Screen, Statement Edition and Vintage Art give them a Hollywood-like flavor.
The key draw for Noir basketball are the autograph cards, which will have a dominant place in the set. Rookie Patch Autographs combine a signature with either a generous swatch or a tag; these cards will focus on first-year players. These cards will be featured in color and black-and-white versions and numbered to 99 or less.
Spotlight Signatures sports both horizontal and vertical layouts and is highlighted by gold ink autographs. The dark background gives the card a dramatic effect.
Sneaker Spotlight, which focuses on players’ footwear, is available as a base insert and also as a signature card. Other inserts include Vintage Art and Feature Length. These cards will feature rookies, stars and NBA legends.
Boxes are making their way online at over $1,300.
