Back for a second season, 2019-20 Upper Deck Engrained hockey has a release date of June 30 and a theme that leans heavily on wood.
Each single pack box will contain six cards, including three autograph and/or memorabilia cards.
The 100-card base set features a blend of rookies, stars and former greats, produced on a 60-pt. stock “with a wood grain look and feel,” according to Upper Deck. Several different parallels will exist, topped by the 1/1 Rosewood Premium Memorabilia Autograph versions.
Each box will guarantee one Signature Shots autograph card. Those will have manufactured carbon fiber or wood pieces with on-card autographs.
Upper Deck dug into its supply of game-used sticks to create several different parts of 2019-20 Engrained.
Remnants is a 100-card insert featuring game-used sticks from current stars and retired legends with autograph parallels in the works.
More stick pieces will be found in Distinguishing Marks, which also includes personalized words and/or markings from the player to whom the stick belonged.
Complete Sticks and Complete Sticks Signatures inserts will be a chase component featuring three separate portions of the same game-used stick.
Dual Stick Nameplates is a 15-card insert featuring nameplates from the sticks of two players on the same card. All are 1/1.
Carved In Time Signatures return in 2019-20. The cards are made of wood, each with a laser-engraved image of a top player and his autograph.
The 50-card Synthesis insert set includes autograph parallels including low-numbered Gold versions.
