Finding customers for this season’s basketball cards won’t likely be a problem. Shop owners, online retailers, case breakers and collectors have been salivating over the potential of the rookie class, headed by Zion Williamson. Virtually every new release has potential, but especially those with a big following. You can put 2019-20 Panini Prizm basketball in that category and we now know a little about what it’ll look like.
2019-20 Panini Prizm NBA Basic Info
Prizm has been one of the faster growing lines in the hobby in recent years with collectors appreciating the relatively modest price point of a product that has a higher-end feel. The 2019-20 edition will offer 12 packs per hobby box with 12 cards in each pack. Every pack should hold two autographs and 22 Prizms. There are also retail versions with one autograph and blaster boxes as well as a First Off the Line Edition that was available only on December 2 (see below for a link to them all for sale on eBay).
The 2019-20 Prizm basketball base set checks in at 300 cards, with rookies, veterans and past stars combining to fill the checklist. It’ll be those Prizm parallels that make up a big part of the chase. At almost two per pack, on average, the odds of pulling at least a few good ones out of a box aren’t that bad. There will be serial-numbered versions from 299 all the way down to 1/1.
Autographs
Prizm will carry autographs from rookies, veterans, and all-time NBA greats in Signatures, Rookie Signatures, and Sensational Signatures. Each has a Prizms Gold version numbered to 10 and a 1/1 Black version.
Inserts
Panini has designed some new insert sets including NBA Finalists, Fearless, Widescreen, Luck of the Lottery,Fireworks, and Far Out. Several insert sets will include in-game photography.
