Whether there are any future kings of basketball in this year’s NBA Draft class is yet to be determined, but 2019-20 Panini Crown Royale will be an appropriate backdrop if some long-term stars emerge.
Back for another season, Crown Royale is a one pack per box product. Each pack will hold eight cards, including one autograph, one memorabilia card, two inserts or parallels and four base cards.
2019-20 Crown Royale Base Set
The base set is unique in that it’s not your typical look. Each card is die-cut, a signature of the brand dating back to the 1990s when Pacific Trading Cards was in business. There will be parallel versions numbered as low as 1/1.
Autographs
Key selling points for Crown Royale include the Silhouettes and Rookie Silhouettes that feature the top stars, legends, and rookies of the NBA. Big hits inside that group will be the rare Prime Parallels (#’d /25 or less).
They’ll be joined by Lineage Scripts, another rookie-centric autograph set; Crown Jewel Signatures, which features what Panini calls “an incredibly strong lineup of superstars, old and new and Regal Achievement Signatures, which highlights standout performances of various players.
Inserts
The popular and hard to pull Kaboom! insert cards return with a 25-player checklist of past and present stars.
Inserts include the new Lords of the Court set (another die-cut design); The Kings Court, Rookie Royalty and Air to the Throne. Each insert set will have parallel versions (#’d as low as 1-of-1).
2019-20 Panini Crown Royale is currently scheduled for release on January 29.
Boxes are available on eBay for around $160.
