It’s safe to say 2019-20 Contenders NBA could be one of the year’s most sought after products. Interest in Contenders Draft was strong but most collectors prefer to see the rookies in their NBA uniforms and they’ll get that with Contenders NBA. In addition to hobby boxes, Panini will have some exclusive content for collectors who buy blaster boxes and packs at Target, Walmart and Meijer stores.
Hobby boxes will offer ten cards per pack, 12 packs per box and 12 boxes per case. On average, each box will have two autographs. A complete checklist for 2019-20 Contenders Basketball is below, along with links to find singles, boxes and break spots.
2019-20 Contenders Draft Autographs, Etc.
Contenders’ most popular attraction is the Rookie Ticket Autographs and the various parallel versions that will include Season Tickets Cracked Ice (# to 25); Optichrome Rookie Season Tickets Premium Gold (# to 10); Rookie Championship Tickets (1/1) and Gold Vinyl (1/1).
Veteran Season Tickets will feature current and former NBA stars with on-card autographs.
MVP Contenders Autographs will showcase some of the league’s best players while Sophomore Contenders autos will be devoted to players who had impressive debuts in 2018-19.
New elements in 2019-20 Contenders NBA are inserts called License to Dominate and Permit to Dominate, both of which will be rare, according to Panini.
Retail Exclusives
Hobby box buyers won’t have all the fun, though. Look for exclusive parallels in both blaster boxes (eight packs of five cards per box) and fat packs (22 cards) including Green Shimmer versions of some of the autographs.
Blaster box exclusives include Game Ticket Red, Game Ticket Blue (#’d/49), Rookie Ticket Swatches,
Rookie Ticket Dual Swatches, Rookie Ticket Dual Swatches Prime (#’d/10) and Rookie Ticket Dual Swatches Tags (1/1).
Fat pack exclusives include Game Ticket Green and Game Ticket Purple (#’d/25). Also look for the new retail-exclusive Rookie Season Ticket Stickers, which features 20 players not included in the Rookie Season Ticket set (Hobby). Each player will have parallel versions.
