Collectors anxious to find something new to rip will find a fresh hockey product on the market this week. 2019-20 O-Pee-Chee Platinum from Upper Deck is set to release Wednesday, April 15 with a glossy touch on the standard OPC product issued earlier this year. It offers one of the earliest opportunities to land a hard-signed rookie autograph card.
Hobby boxes will contain 20 packs with four cards in each. Each box should have one autograph, along with six Retro inserts, two numbered base set parallels and seven insert parallels. Blaster boxes have four packs plus an additional bonus pack.
The 200-card base set includes 150 current stars and 50 Marquee Rookies. There are ten different base set parallels possible, all with “colorful names.” New this year are Sunset (look for two per box) and Matte Pink (one per box) but the big prize will be the 1/1 Golden Treasures.
The O-Pee-Chee Platinum Retro cards return this season with six per box. Other inserts include Best in the World, Calder Front Runners and Thrilling Finishes. Each will have autograph parallels. The complete product breakdown is below.
