After making its debut last year, 2018 Topps Diamond Icons baseball will return at the season’s midway point, offering a high-end box breaking experience that includes nine autographs in each ten-card package. Expect to pay close to $1,500 to get your hands on one.
2018 Topps Diamond Icons Basics
Each box will have seven autographed cards, two autographed memorabilia cards and one additional unsigned memorabilia card. Every other box will have a cut signature, typically from a checklist of past greats.
All cards will be numbered to 25 or less.
About 75 players will be on the autograph checklist. Basic signed cards will include Purple (# to 10); Red (# to 5) and 1/1 Gold parallels. Red Ink versions, including the same parallel lineup, will also be in the mix. There will also be Diamond Autographs, with a checklist of 40 players and the same Purple, Red and Gold parallels.
The cut signature checklist will feature 100 player autographs, all numbered to four with 1/1 Gold parallels. Up to 30 Immortal Cut Signatures will include some of the best players of all-time.
Autographed Authenticated Jumbo Patches will feature up to 45 subjects, with Purple, Red and Gold parallels. Single-Player Auto Relics will be numbered to 10 or less with Red and Gold parallels. Single Player, Dual Team Autograph Relics will feature a player who had an impact on two different MLB teams. There will be a checklist of 10, with cards numbered to 10, 5 and 1.
Single-Player Dual Auto Relics will presumably include two signatures from the same player with a total of five players on the checklist. Dual Player, Dual Auto Relics will be a combo card with autographs from each and ten different cards available. Again, all will be numbered to 10 with Red (# to 5) and Gold (1/1) parallels.
Diamond Relic cards will include four embedded diamonds with a 12-player checklist and Red (# to 5) and Gold (1/1) parallels.
Dual-Player Dual Relic Book cards will have a 15-card checklist while the Single-Player Relic card checklist will feature 50 players. Again, Red and Gold parallels for each are being produced.
