2018 Panini Immaculate NFL is set to make its return in the middle of the season, packing five autograph or memorabilia cards and one base or parallel into its six-card boxes.
Immaculate will offer a 100-card base set with Gold (# to 5) and 1/1 Platinum parallels but as always with this higher-end product, it’s the signatures and large patch cards that most collectors are chasing.
Panini says all of this year’s on-card autographs in Immaculate will be on acetate card stock.
Among the new autograph subsets are Immaculate Hall of Fame signatures, which focus on players who’ve been enshrined in Canton; Immaculate Careers, focused on cards of players who enjoyed long, productive stays in the NFL and Immaculate Records.
On-card signed memorabilia card subsets include Rookie Patch Autographs, which feature top first-year players. All cards are max numbered to 99 with Gold versions numbered to 25 and 1/1 Platinum Tags and NFL Shield versions.
Immaculate Signature Patches, Premium Patches Autographs and Immaculate Players Collection Autographs. Platinum Patches will be numbered no higher than 99 with Gold (# to 10), Platinum (1/1) and NFL Shield (1/1) parallels.
Immaculate Shields is a new insert that has cards with an NFL logo patch. Dual Player Shields is a subset with a checklist of 60 big name NFL pairings including Odell Beckham Jr./Saquon Barkley, Larry Fitzgerald/Josh Rosen, Von Miller/Bradley Chubb, Cam Newton/D.J. Moore, Joe Montana/Jimmy Garoppolo, Russell Wilson/Rashaad Penny and T.J. Watt/J.J. Watt.
Also new for 2018 are Immaculate Eye Black Jersey cards, which contain signed eye-black pieces and a jersey patch. Gold Ink versions are numbered to 7 with 1/1 tags in the mix. In fact, Panini says Immaculate will offer over 50 percent more 1/1 cards in 2018 Immaculate than in years past.
Expect the starting price for 2018 Immaculate NFL to be around $400.
