Pulling together prospects, draft picks, rookies and veterans, 2018 Bowman’s Best will aim to cover all the bases for collectors. And just in time for Christmas.
2018 Bowman’s Best Basics
This is a hobby exclusive product that will be released the week of Dec. 19, and Topps is promising four autograph cards per hobby box. There will be two mini-boxes in each hobby box, with six packs in each mini-box. Every pack will contain four Bowman’s Best base cards and a base card refractor parallel.
The base set will feature a regular checklist and a Top Prospects checklist.
A hobby box will contain one Atomic refractor. Other refractor parallels will include basic non-numbered ones; purple (# to 250); blue (150), green (99), gold (50), orange (25), red (10) and 1/1 SuperFractors.
Inserts
Several inserts will debut in the 2018 set. The 1998 Best Performers inserts will feature retired greats, prominent major-league veterans,top prospects and draft picks who excelled during their careers. These inserts will be present
ed in a throwback 1998 Bowman’s Best Performers design.
Also new is Early Indications, which features top prospects who have been successful in the minor leagues. Power Producers, another debut subset, pays tribute to the veterans, rookies, prospects and draft picks who have shown a penchant for the long ball.
Neophyte Sensations, another newbie, will highlight the top performing rookies of 2018. Power Producers and Neophyte Sensations also will have low-numbered autograph and autograph parallel cards.
These insert sets will have parallels, including an Atomic refractor, one in gold and a 1/1 SuperFractor.
Autographs
With four on-card autogra
ph cards per hobby box, the signatures from Bowman’s Best should be the biggest lure for collectors.
Best of 2018 Autographs will be the most common signature card, featuring veterans, rookies, prospects and draft picks. There will be plenty of parallels, too, including non-numbered refractors, green refractors (numbered to 99), gold refractors (50), Atomic refractors (25), red (10) and SuperFractor (1/1). There also will be 1/1 Printing Plate autograph cards.
The 1998 Best Performers Autographs is new and will adopt the same design as the insert. It will include gold refractor parallels numbered to 50, Atomic refractors (25) and a 1/1 SuperFractor. Early Indications Autographs also mirror the parallel, highlighting prospects who have performed well. The refractor parallels will be the same as Best Performers.
Dual Autographs will feature two on-card signatures and will be numbered to 25. There will be an Atomic refractor parallel numbered to 10 and a 1/1 SuperFractor.
