Hockey collectors with an eye on high-end material usually start putting a few dollars away for it, even if it’s a product on the previous season’s calendar that doesn’t arrive until the new season. 2018-19 Upper Deck The Cup makes its return next month, promising new autograph patch inserts and more booklet cards.
2018-19 The Cup Basics
Packed in a tin, the Cup is scheduled to arrive October 23, with six cards in each. Cases will have six tins.
Each tin contains one auto-patch rookie card from the strong 2018-19 rookie class, headlined by ’18-’19 Calder Trophy winner Elias Pettersson, plus an additional auto-patch card.
Standard base or “regular” cards as Upper Deck calls them, will be numbered to 249, A group of rookie cards will also be numbered to 249 with Team Canada Juniors Retro cards numbered to 149. The rookie cards will have parallels including Gold Spectrum foils numbered to 34 or 36 and 1/1 Black Foils.
