Hobby shops received the newest baseball release on Wednesday with the arrival of 2017 Topps Museum Collection. Topps is touting that every hobby box will contain an on-card autograph, an autographed relic card, a quad relic card and a prime relic card. Lucky collectors will find framed on-card autographs and an autographed jumbo relic card; those will fall one to a case.
Box prices are generally in the $200-$225 range.

A complete checklist is also below.
2017 Topps Museum Configuration, Base Set and Parallels
A typical hobby box includes an autograph card, an auto relic, one Prime Relic, a Quad Relic and a Canvas Collection Reprint insert. There will be five cards per pack, and four packs per hobby box.
There are 100 base cards in the set, but most buyers of this product will not be set builders. Nevertheless, there are parallels to chase: sapphire, amethyst (numbered to 99), ruby (50) and 1/1 emerald.
Relics, Inserts and Autographs
Canvas Collection cards will be a multi-tiered insert set. For example, Canvas Collection reprints will fall one per hobby box and will feature artistry by some of the best in the business. There will be 25 subjects to choose from. Canvas Collection Originals will be 1/1 pieces of the actual works done by the artists. Also a 1/1 offering, Canvas Collection Autographs will feature an original piece of art, signed by the player who is the subject of the canvas work.
The prime relic cards will be the ones coveted by collectors. Meaningful Material Relics will feature up to 150 cards and will include rookies, veterans and retired players. The base version will be sequentially numbered, with parallels in copper (numbered to 35), gold (10) and emerald (1/1).
Oversized pieces of memorabilia will be featured in Momentous Material jumbo patch relics. The base version will be numbered to 5 and there also will be 1/1 versions. Momentous Material Laundry Tag relics will cover up to 200 laundry tag pieces from the best in the game, and all will be 1/1s. Museum Memorabilia will tout 150 subjects with the MLB silhouetted batter logo patch from a game-worn jersey; this also will be a 1/1 piece.
Another 1/1 piece is the Jumbo Lumber Bat Nameplate relic, which will include 100 different players with nameplates from game-used bats.
Quad Relics are going to be a big draw in the set among the premium cards. Single Player Primary Pieces will be serial numbered and will feature 60 subjects with four relic pieces per card. There also will be parallels in copper, gold (numbered to 25) and emerald (1/1). Single-Player Primary Pieces Legends will pay tribute to up to 20 major-league legends with four relics per card, with gold parallels numbered to 10 and a 1/1 emerald version.
Relics will not be the only lure for the Museum Collection. Several different types of autograph cards will be offered, with parallels of course.
Archival Autographs will be a collection of 75 retired, veteran and rookie subjects, and the signatures will be hard-signed. The base set will be sequentially numbered, with parallels in copper, gold and 1/1 emerald. Premium Prints will feature gold ink, on-card autographs against a backdrop of black-and-white photography. All 30 subjects will be numbered to 25.
Dual Autographs feature 25 different two-player combinations, with on-card signatures and numbered to 15. Triple Autographs are limited to 10 different player combos, with on-card signatures and numbered to 5.
Premium content will be showcased in subsets like Museum Framed Autographs. This will feature on-card autographs, with the card encased in a sturdy frame. These are case hits and there are several parallels—silver, numbered to 15; gold (10), black (5) and wood (1/1).
More content will combine autographs and relics. Momentous Material Jumbo Patch autographs will include 75 players sharing a card with a signature and a jumbo-sized patch. It will come in gold parallels numbered to 5 and a 1/1 emerald parallel.
Single-Player Signature Swatches Dual Relics (trying saying that one fast) will combine two relic pieces with an autograph, with 40 players singled out in the set. Look for parallels in copper, gold and 1/1 emerald. Single-Player Signature Swatches Triple Relics add in a third relic piece, with parallels also in copper, gold and 1/1 emerald.
And as a capping bonus an Oversized Framed Autographed Patch card will have several types of relics—batting gloves, baseball cap logos and team logo patches. All will be 1/1 cards and will be hard-signed in gold ink.
Not much has changed for the brand. 2017 Topps Museum Collection will offer what it has in the past. Memorabilia card fans should enjoy the classy card design and the oversized swatches. You can see boxes, cases and more on eBay by clicking here.
