Topps has plans for yet another single autographed card per pack product with the announcement of 2017 Luminaries Baseball, due out on November 8.
Much in the mold of Archives Signature Series, Luminaries includes just the single, signed card per pack, but on a high-end, more limited level. The product will only be sold in hobby shops. A checklist is below.
Each Luminaries card will be numbered to no more than 15 and consist of either a signed card or a signed card with a patch or relic.
With retail prices that should fall somewhere around $200, the checklist will likely have to be a strong one. Topps teased autographs from Hank Aaron, Sandy Koufax, Derek Jeter, Mike Trout, Clayton Kershaw, Kris Bryant, Ichiro and others. Images of Bryce Harper, Francisco Lindor and Corey Seager were also included on the promotional material.
Luminaries will include several themes including Hit Kings, Home Run Kings and Masters of the Mound. 1/1 cut signature cards will also be part of the product.
The biggest hits in the product will be autograph book cards, with the Home Run Kings version carrying a whopping 50 autographs and the Hit Kings a total of 40 signatures. Dual and Triple book cards will also be in the mix as well as 1/1 Bat Knob cards.
There will be parallels of many cards, numbered to 10, 5 and 1.
Boxes are available on eBay.
