The season is over but the 2017 branded NFL trading card releases will keep coming for the next couple of months. Next up is a familiar brand: 2017 Panini Select football, which is set to arrive on Friday, February 16.
Each box will have two autographed cards, two memorabilia cards and 14 Prizms, at least five of which will be numbered. There will be 12 boxes in a case.
Select offers an unusual base set that has three levels of scarcity. Concourse (easiest to find), Premier and Field Level (toughest). Every box should have 30 Concourse, ten Premier and two Field Level.
There will be base cards parallels aplenty, including Silver, Tri-Color, Blue, Maroon, Orange, Tie-Dye, Gold, Green and Black. Die-Cut parallels will have parallels of their own including 1/1 Black.
Over 50 current and former NFL stars have signed autographs for 2017 Panini Select but the autographed memorabilia cards of this past season’s NFL Draft will be the major attractions. Prime Selections Prizm and Jumbo Rookie Signature Swatches are numbered to 99 or less and have multiple color variations including Light Blue, Copper, Purple, Orange, Tie-Dye, Gold, Green and Black.
Rookie Signature Memorabilia Prizm features an over-size memorabilia piece and four different parallels with prime or super-prime memorabilia.
Signature Die Cuts will have five parallels and four additional die-cut parallels.
Non-autographed memorabilia subsets include: Jumbo Rookie Swatch Prizm, Select Swatches, Sparks Prizm and Prime Selections Prizm. Over-sized memorabilia sets include Nameplates, Brand Logos, Nike Laundry Tags and NFL Shields.
As it did last year, 2017 Panini Select will have a 2018 NFL season element with redemption cards for this spring’s NFL Draft Class found once in every four boxes. Considering the potential with the upcoming class, it could be a strong selling point.
2017 Panini Select Football boxes are available online for around $125.
