Pro Debut Baseball returns to the Topps lineup in 2016 with the minor league oriented product set to release around Memorial Day.
Topps touts the product as the first card set to feature the 2015 MLB Draft class in their Minor League Baseball uniforms.
A full checklist is below.
Each box will contain 24 packs with eight cards per pack and there’s a promise of two autographs and two relics per box but don’t look for game-used or game-worn memorabilia.
Autograph content (on stickers) will include base autos with Gold, Orange (# to 25), Red (# to 5) and Black parallels.
New to the mix this year are Pro Production autographs, which will be “low-numbered autographs of the top-level stars of Minor League Baseball,” according to Topps. There will be parallels there, too including:
- Red Parallel: sequentially numbered to 5.
- Black Parallel: numbered 1/1.
- Printing Plates: numbered 1/1.
Dual Affiliation Autographs will pair players who have something in common. Red (# to 5) as well as 1/1 Black and Printing Plate parallels will be tough pulls.
Insert cards will include:
- Distinguished Debuts, featuring 25 players who “made notable professional debuts in 2016.”
- Promo Night Uniforms, highlighting “the wildest promo night uniforms from the 2015 Minor League Baseball season.”
Topps will again produce a Fragments of the Farm relic set that will include pieces of Minor League Baseball memorabilia such as bits and pieces associated with specific teams.
Also returning are Pennant and Mascot Patches. Each will have their own set of numbered parallels.
The 2016 Topps Pro Debut base set will consist of 200 cards and include:
- Gold Parallel: sequentially numbered.
- Orange Parallel: sequentially numbered to 25.
- Red Parallel: sequentially numbered to 5.
- Black Parallel: numbered 1/1.
- Printing Plates: numbered 1/1.
There will also be photo variations for some cards.
2016 Pro Debut will likely fetch $60-65 at retail upon release the week of May 25.
