Topps’ plans for the 2016 National Sports Collectors Convention include a wrapper redemption program featuring its Bowman brand.
The 2016 Bowman “National” Refractor packs will consist of four cards. They can only be obtained by opening ten sealed packs of any 2016 Topps products (except for Opening Day and Stickers) or five packs of 2016 Bowman or 2015 Bowman’s Best. Collectors must open those packs at the Topps booth and it’s first come, first served.
The checklist (below) will include a 50-card base set of veterans, rookies, top prospects and a few past greats. They’ll be printed on what Topps calls “a prism foil pattern on chrome stock that has not been used in other 2016 Bowman products.”
Among the players in the set are Mike Trout, Kris Bryant, Corey Seager, Bryce Harper, Ken Griffey Jr., Hank Aaron, Babe Ruth, Yoan Moncada and Alex Bregman. Topps says there will be parallels in the mix and more than two dozen players have autographed cards that will be randomly inserted as well.
The National Sports Collectors Convention runs from August 3-7 at the Atlantic City Convention Center.
