2016 Topps Museum Baseball hits the market this week, promising four hits per box and a somewhat darker design than collectors have seen in the past. See a full preview gallery and a final checklist for the high-end product at the bottom of this page.
Museum can be found online for around $175 per box.
2016 Topps Museum Baseball Basics
Master boxes will include four packs, with each pack having five cards (three base, one parallel and one hit).
Every box contains one on-card autograph, one autograph relic card, one Quad Relic card and one Price Relic card.
Every case includes one Autographed Jumbo Relic card and one Framed Museum Collection on-card autograph.
Autographed Cards
Single-Player Signature Swatches Dual Relic Autographs: Over 50 subjects with two game-used memorabilia pieces and an autograph. There will be Gold (# to 25) and Patch parallels (# to 5).
Single-Player Signature Swatches Triple Relic Autographs will include up to 40 subjects with three game-used memorabilia pieces and an autograph with:
- Gold Parallel sequentially numbered to 25.
- Patch Parallel sequentially numbered to 5.
Single-Player Primary Pieces Quad Relic Autographs: Over 30 book cards that showcase 4 pieces of game-used memorabilia and the player’s autograph. Sequentially numbered to 10.
Archival Autographs has over 70 players in the checklist and all autographs slated to be on-card. Gold and sepia parallels, numbered to 5, are among the major hits.
Other autograph cards include:
Premium Prints: 25 players sign in silver ink on black and white cards. Sequentially numbered to 25.
Dual On-Card Autographs: Up to 25 player pairings. Sequentially numbered to 15.
Triple On-Card Autographs” Sequentially numbered to 5.
Cut Signatures: Up to 20 all-time greats will be on the checklist, all 1/1 according to Topps.
Museum Collection Autographs will be considered case hits. Topps promises “specially framed cards” which will feature on-card autographs from up to 50 stars both past and present. Look for:
- Gold Frame sequentially numbered to 15.
- Silver Frame sequentially numbered to 10.
- Black Frame sequentially numbered to 5.
- Wood Frame sequentially numbered 1 of 1.

Prime Relics will also appear one per box with possibilities including:
Meaningful Material Prime Relics: Game-worn jersey pieces of over 100 different stars. Sequentially numbered to 50 and including:
- Gold Parallels sequentially numbered to 35.
- Copper Parallel sequentially numbered to 10.
- Emerald Parallel numbered 1 of 1.
Momentous Material Laundry Tag Relics: 200 1 of 1 cards containing a game-worn uniform laundry tag.
Museum Memorabilia: Up to 100 1 of 1 cards featuring the MLB® Silhouetted Batter logo from a game-worn jersey.
Jumbo Lumber Bat Nameplate Relics: Over 75 cards that display the nameplate from a game-used bat. Numbered 1 of 1.
Meaningful Material Dual Prime Relics Book Cards: Up to 30 pairings showcasing PRIME game-worn jersey pieces. Sequentially numbered to 5.
Momentous Material Jumbo Patch Relics: Up to 60 players with a jumbo patch relic. Sequentially numbered to 5.
Momentous Material Jumbo Patch Autographs (one per case): Up to 100 of the most collectible players of MLB featured on a card that contains a jumbo relic and an autograph. Sequentially numbered to 10.
- Gold Parallel sequentially numbered to 5.
- Emerald Parallel numbered 1 of 1.
There will be one Quad Relic card per box with a checklist of over 50 players. The cards could include one of these:

- Gold Parallel sequentially numbered to 25.

- Gold Parallel sequentially numbered to 5.
Four-Player Primary Pieces Quad Relics: Up to 25 groupings of 4 players and a piece of game-used memorabilia from each. Sequentially numbered to 99.
- Copper Parallel sequentially numbered to 75.
- Gold Parallel sequentially numbered to 25.
Single-Player Primary Pieces Quad Patch Relics: Featuring 4 pieces of game-worn patch memorabilia. Sequentially numbered to 5.
Four-Player Primary Pieces Quad Patch Relics: Featuring 4 pieces of game-worn patch memorabilia, one from each player. Sequentially numbered to 5.
Base Set and Canvas
The 100 card base set will include veterans, rookies and retired players with each card having one of three paralles: Green (# to 199), Blue (# to 99) and Red (1/1).
Canvas Collection returns with 25 original works of art on cards, all numbered 1/1. Reprints of the original works will be inserted at a rate of 1 per box.
