Just a few weeks after introducing a $1,500 factory set called Chrome Sapphire, MLB’s trading card partner is offering another limited edition factory set—this one at a much lower price point. 2016 Topps Limited Baseball marks the return of the online exclusive.
The set will consist of 700 cards—which includes all cards from Series 1 and 2 of the flagship issue– in a square factory box. The cards will be printed on a heavier 24-pt stock at a price of $99.99.
Topps says fewer than 1,000 sets of Limited will be made available for sale.
Last year’s debut set of Limited is selling online for prices generally between $99-$150. It’s also been a popular breakup product for dealers.
The checklist will again mirror the regular set including rookie cards of Corey Seager, Miguel Sano, Trea Turner and Kyle Schwarber, among others. Unlike Sapphire, 2016 Topps Limited will not have any special cards that are exclusive to the product.
