After debuting last year, there will be a 2016 version of Topps Archives Signature Series Baseball.
2016 Topps Archives Signature Series Basics
It’s a pretty simple concept: one autographed card per pack—and that’s all. Every card is hand-signed, numbered and encased, making it more like a ‘grab bag’ than a new release.
Each card will include a foil stamped Archives logo on the front and the focus this year will be on what Topps refers to as “retired MLB All-Stars”. The cards are all from previous releases—some more than 50 years old; others are of a much more modern vintage.
Cost and What’s New
The cost to collectors will likely be around $35-40 per pack; good if you pull a 1954 Topps Ted Williams or a Koufax/Ryan dual auto but perhaps not so good if you get a second-tier star who retired ten years ago.
New this year will be Dual Autographs, Autographed Relics and Autographed Legends, which will feature some of the sport’s greatest names.
Many of the autographed cards from last year’s product sell for under $10. You can see them on eBay by clicking here.
