The sixth edition of the Standard Catalog of Vintage Baseball Cards is being released this week.
The paperback guide offers basic info, checklists and pricing information for about 4,000 sets from 1863-1980. The book goes well beyond standard card sets that most collectors are familiar with. It remains the sole updated resource for thousands of regional sets and those issued with consumer products.
Over 500,000 cards are listed and priced in the book, which is produced annually.
The Sixth Edition has 696 pages and weighs about three pounds.
Each set listed includes a brief overview of unique features, size and other relevant information for collectors. More than 4,000 photos accompany the text. Three different valuations for each card are offered, based on condition.
The Standard Catalog is generally considered the most comprehensive vintage baseball card guide on the market.
