Booklet cards, whether they contain autographs, memorabilia swatches or both are usually tough to pull. If you buy a box of 2016 Panini Playbook Football, you’re guaranteed to land one.
2016 Panini Playbook Football Basics
Due out October 5, Playbook has become a staple of Panini’s annual NFL trading card line. This year’s edition drops three cards in each pack including the one auto or memorabilia book, plus another auto or relic card and one base card. Box prices are opening at around $90. Fifteen boxes will make up a case.
The booklet cards in 2016 Panini Playbook football will come with a variety of themes and the 2016 NFL rookie class will be a big part of it. In addition to Rookie Playbooks, which utilize oversized memorabilia swatches, multiple photos and an on card autograph (or so it looks), there will be Face to Face, with a pair of rookies along with a relic piece; Material Autographs, Play Action, Split Signatures, Front 4 Jersey Signatures (with four autographs and jersey relics) and Passport Books that feature jumbo swatches from across a player’s career.
Standard Autos/Relics/Base Set
Beyond the booklet cards, Coaches’ Quotes will feature sticker autographs with a quote from a big name coach on the back, Slant Signatures push the sticker autograph to an angle and will feature some former greats (presumably receivers, although that hasn’t been revealed as of yet).
Multi-swatch relic cards will include Armory, Rookie Jumbo Memorabilia Booklet and Playbook Booklet Materials.
While each pack includes a base card, the size of the set or whether they’ll be serial numbered won’t be known until a checklist is released.
