2016-17 Upper Deck Trilogy Hockey Preview, Checklist

The NHL’s trading card partner will kick off the new calendar year with the release of 2016-17 Upper Deck Trilogy hockey.

Due out January 5, Trilogy carries a revamped configuration.  Each eight-pack box will have at least one autographed card along with two other autos or relics.  Suggested retail on boxes is 10 percent less than the 2015-16 version. A full checklist is available below.

Trilogy’s base set will begin with 50 standard cards, followed by a bevy of numbered rookie cards that will bring the base set total to 150.  Each ro okie will have three different base rookies:  Common (# to 999); Uncommon Autographs (# to 375) and Inscribed Rookie Autos (# to 49). There will be Blue (# to 999),  Black Rainbow Premium Material Relics parallels and Green Rainbow Foil Relic Variations (each # to a particular career or season stat) of those rookie subsets.  

Signature Pucks make their return, with a Hall of Fame Signature Puck subset. Major hits will include  Dual Signature Pucks.

Tryptich Inserts are back with a new array of themed memorabilia and autograph cards.  Included in the relic swatches are pieces of jerseys, patches, fight straps, uniform tags, gloves, blockers, legs pads, skates and sticks. 

New this year are Triple Relic cards featuring combinations of veterans, rookies and past greats accompanied by a variety of memorabilia.  

Ice Scripts feature on card autographs on a plexiglass substrate.
