The old season is two months in the rearview mirror but there’s at least one more NBA trading card product in the pipeline before next season’s training camps open. 2016-17 Panini Impeccable basketball will arrive in late September.
Impeccable made its debut as a football brand last fall. It’s a higher-end issue with an average of five on-card autographs (including at least one rookie) along with three other cards for around $500 per box according to online ordering sites.
At first glance, Impeccable seems fairly straightforward with a limited number of parallels and insert sets.
Each three-box case will have one precious metal card of a rookie, veteran or retired player that features one Troy ounce of silver or gold.
The Impeccable Stats autographed cards will feature historic performances numbered to the stat line of that effort. For instance, there will be 81 cards commemorating Kobe Bryant’s 81-point game. Others will be numbered to player jersey numbers or number of years in the NBA.
Elegance Jersey autographs feature rookies, veterans and past greats with a jersey piece and on-card autograph. Prime parallel versions will be in the mix, numbered to 25, 10 or 1.
The base set will have 100 cards with parallel versions also available.
