2016-17 Panini Flawless basketball is caboose on the previous season’s release calendar but also the one that gets much of the attention from collectors and case breakers.
2016-17 Flawless will offer ten cards per box (or briefcase, whatever you prefer), at least seven of which will be autographs and every signature in the product is signed on-card. There will be one encased base or base parallel diamond card and one encased autograph card per box at a price of around $1,500.
Every card in Flawless is limited to 25 copies or less.
Panini has upgraded the gem content for 2016-17. Every jewel card in Flawless is now a single, double, triple or jumbo diamond. There will be base Single Diamond #’d/25, Double Diamond #’d/10, Triple Diamond #’d/5, and Platinum Diamond #’d/1. Every box contains at least one encased diamond card.
Among the other highlights:
Championship Tag Autographs
These are patch cards that show players from teams that have won an NBA title with the number of titles displayed. For example, Steph Curry’s card has a “4x” championship notation. Each card is hand-signed.
Star Swatch Signatures
Star Swatch Signatures pairs an oversized patch swatch with an on-card autograph with a checklist of current and former players.
Logoman Autographs
A familiar sight in high-end products, the 1/1 Logoman patch cards return featuring the league’s iconic logo patch embedded in a card featuring a notable player who has added his signature.
Greats
OK, simple enough. Some hoop Hall of Famers and superstars make up the “Greats” subset including Shaq, Kareem, Karl Malone, John Stockton, David Robinson and others.
Triple Double
Each card in the Triple Double subset includes three memorabilia swatches and three diamonds. There are Platinum versions that have three diamonds.
Dual Patch Autographs
A staple of the Flawless brand, Dual Patch Autographs boasts a checklist ranging from rookies to veterans to retired greats.
2016-17 Panini Flawless basketball is set for release on November 17.
