Two other recent Panini basketball products, Gala and Noir, were also targeted toward overseas buyers.
Panini does say American collectors will have a shot at the popular annual issue, though. They’ll find five cards in each four-pack box with one autograph, three memorabilia cards, four numbered parallels and one insert card.
Etched parallels, multi-tiered Epix and Fabric of the Game insert sets are back and joined by a new micro-etched Camo parallel (numbered to 25 or less) as well as the Certified Competitors Autographs insert. In all, there will be five new inserts, with one generally in each pack.
On average, you’ll find one Mirror Etch parallel numbered to 299 or less per pack.
There will be a 200-card base set with veterans and rookies. Panini says 40 of the 200 cards will be from this year’s rookie class.
A mid-level product, 2015-16 Certified will retail for around $70-85 per box.
While the base set may be a relatively comprehensive one at 200 cards, it’ll be a challenge for collectors since there will likely be fewer than a dozen base cards per box.
