Football card collectors will have some fresh packs to break open today when Panini Prestige hits stores but the company is also offering information on another of its long-running lines. 2012 Certified Football will be out just as the season kicks off. The issue will lean on Hall of Famer John Elway for many of its major insert cards.
Certified will offer four autograph or memorabilia cards, three Mirror parallels, one Immortal, one New Generation Rookie Card and one additional insert or parallel per box.
Certified has a 350-card base set, but less than half of those are ordinary cards of current players. The set is made up of 150 current superstars, 50 Immortals, 50 Immortals Materials relic cards, 65 New Generation RCs and 35 Freshman Fabric autograph memorabilia RCs numbered to 499 or less.
Panini will debut a new Essential Signatures autographed insert set this year, with a 15-player checklist as well as Rookie Combo NFL shield patch cards. New versions of its annual Certified Skills and Fabric of the Game cards return. Fabric of the Game will include die-cut cards, more oversized memorabilia versions and autographs.
The Elway Collection will include some great achievements from the former Broncos’ star with oversized game-worn memorabilia swatches and autographed versions numbered to 10 or less.
Mirror Material Gold, Emerald and Black inserts feature swatches or autographs, all numbered to 25 or less.
