2012 Bowman Signature Football is a brand-new offering from Topps, and this one autograph per pack product will feature the first NFL-licensed cards and autographs of this year’s draftees. Perhaps in anticipation of this class, Bowman Signature is being fast-tracked for a Memorial Day weekend release.
Each five-card pack will feature four base cards (two veterans and two rookies) and one autographed rookie card. Each five-pack Hobby box will yield three Autographed Rookies and two Autographed Chrome Rookie Refractors. The Autographed Chrome Rookie Refractors are all to be signed on-card, while all other autographs will be stickers.
The 100 rookie base cards will all be available in a variety of serial-numbered parallels (ranging from the one-of-one Reds to the serial-numbered to 99 Silvers); however, judging by the hastily-compiled sell-sheet it does not appear that any of the 100 veterans will be paralleled.
In addition to the promised Rookie and Chrome Rookie autographs, a number of multi-player Rookie autographs, autographed “Relics,” and low-numbered autographed parallels will also be found. The exact checklist has yet to be compiled, but can only assume that an Andrew Luck / Robert Griffin III dual autograph would be one of the big hits of this product.
2012 Bowman Signatures Football is expected to be released the week of May 28. Each Hobby box will contain five packs of five cards and should retail in the $175-$200/box range. Hobby cases will contain 12 boxes.
