They’re here. An annual favorite has returned this week with the arrival of 2011 Topps Heritage Baseball. It’s a product that is sandwiched between the first and second series of Topps’ base brand.
Updated to reflect last year’s San Francisco Giants’ World Series title and once again, cursed with a big group of short prints, Heritage gets pricey for those who can’t live without each and every card.
425 cards comprise the base set with 75 of the high-numbered short prints. You’ll also see 24 Sporting News All-Star cards, Rookie Parade, Babe Ruth Special, as well as several combo and leader cards in the ’62 design
Hobby boxes are where you’ll find many of the big inserts and Topps has promised on-card autographs of current and former players but retail boxes do provide a cheap introduction to the product and do occasionally yield a gem.
Retail blaster boxes are lining the shelves of your local discount store and below we take a look at this modern era ode to the wood-grained border 1962 Topps set.
