2010 Topps Allen & Ginter Baseball will ship in June according to the company, which has released more information on this year’s edition of the popular product.
A 350-card base set with 50 short-prints will make up the meat and potatoes portion of the 19th-century inspired issue.
- Cabinet Relic Cards (1 of 1) Topps says it is producing “the biggest relic cards ever seen in the hobby”. It offered a look at a giant piece of a Tony Hawk skateboard that will be part of the relic card program. Baseball relics will include entire name plates from game-used jerseys.
- Book Cards (1 of 1) The popular Topps book cards come to the Allen & Ginter brand.
- Monsters of the Mesozoic Relics (#’d to 10) The first of these pre-historic relic cards (Mammoth Hair and Dinosaur Teeth) were introduced in Allen & Ginter two years ago and have returned.
The non-sport content joins sports-related offerings with inserts such as Lords of the Olympus, World’s Greatest Wordsmiths, National Animals, Sailors of the Seven Seas, This Day in History, Baseball Highlight Art and others.
Unannounced inserts, autographs, relics and the ‘Ginter Code’ will also be part of the 2010 Allen & Ginter issue.
Like last year, every hobby box guarantees 3 hits (Autographs, Relics, Cut Signatures, Rip Cards, and Printing Plates).
