Topps’ latest high-end product hits the shelves.
Collectors and flippers of current issue sports card boxes spent the weekend chasing down the latest products, including 2009 Topps’ Triple Threads. The annual issue officially hit shelves late last week.
At around $150 per box, Topps promises at least one autographed card and has loaded the other pack with a memorabilia card or two. Each box contains two six-card packs which means the box breaks don’t take long.
Despite the difficult odds of pulling a card worthy of recouping your investment, it’s one of the company’s most popular releases of the year. Over 1300 boxes and single cards are already on eBay.. An Alex Rodriguez All-Star logo man patch card was among those changing hands. It sold for $599 while another card featuring the signatures of ARod, Robinson Cano and Mark Texiera sold for $250. A Lou Gehrig jersey patch card also brought $250 last week.
Here’s what Topps is saying about the product…followed by a sample box break.
