One of MMA’s pioneers, Kimbo Slice will sign cards for Topps’ upcoming UFC release.
Topps has added legendary brawler Kimbo Slice to its 2009 UFC trading card line.
The cards mark Slice’s first autographed trading card. He joins 15 other fighters from the Ultimate Fighter (TUF 10) reality television show that will be included in packs of cards.
Topps says all of the cards will feature on-card autographs. To coincide with the launch of TUF 10 and to include these new cards, 2009 Topps UFC will be delayed until September 21st.
The 35 year-old fighter (real name Kevin Ferguson) once had a tryout with the Miami Dolphins. After gaining fame through street-type fights shown on the internet, Slice wound up in the upstart Elite Xtreme Combat, but the organization folded last year. He’ll attempt to win his way into a regular spot in UFC through his performance in the new Ultimate Fighter Heavyweights show.
