For the third straight year, Mile High Card Company will be giving away an early Mickey Mantle card at the National Sports Collectors Convention.
The company announced Tuesday it would be holding a contest for its consignors with a 1952 Topps Mantle as the grand prize.
The National coincides with the company’s consignment deadline for its September auction.
For each $500 of value consigned to the auction, one ticket will be issued for the drawing. The larger the consignment, the more tickets a person will receive, but everyone who consigns to MHCC at the National will be entered.
“Rather than just offering a perk to the biggest consignor, we wanted every one of our partners to have a piece of the action. It could be a well-known collector or a relative beginner, but someone will be walking away with the industry’s most iconic post-war baseball card,” said MHCC President and CEO Brian Drent.
The card is graded Authentic by PSA with some clipping at the corners but it’s still valued at about $10,000.
In 2015, Mile High also gave a ’52 Mantle and the result was record number of catalog consignments. Last year in Atlantic City, they handed out a 1951 Bowman Mantle rookie card.
Consignors can enter at booth #1136/1138 by submitting consignments at the show.
