The buying and selling wasn’t over after the National Sports Collectors Convention closed on Thursday night. Goldin Auctions’ Premium Live Summer Auction saw 90 high-end lots sell in a live format.
A 1930 Hack Wilson Chicago Cubs uniform was the big attraction. The flannel outfit worn by the man who holds baseball’s RBI record sold for $382,812. The second highest priced item was a signed 1959 Ted Williams Red Sox jersey which netted $147,000. The 12 jerseys up for grabs including a pair from Michael Jordan as well as gamers from Terry Bradshaw, Jerry Rice, Joe Montana, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Kobe Bryant, Gale Sayers and others combined to sell for more than $850,000.
A corresponding 1,835-lot online auction that includes: a 1952 Topps #311 Mickey Mantle (PSA 6.5); an unopened 1986-87 Fleer NBA wax box; an historic 1932 Amelia Earhart signed certificate of landing; a complete Albert Pujols home run ticket collection and other items will be open for bidding through August 5 at www.GoldinAuctions.com.
