Mile High Card Company’s Summer Auction is set to close late Thursday night/Friday morning with at least ten items likely to sell for six-figure prices, including a T206 Honus Wagner that’s expected to bring more than $1 million.
Auction houses have been enjoying an influx of new bidders and more bids as the sports card and memorabilia market continues to grow and prices balloon at a rapid pace.
It’s not just old baseball cards anymore, either. Unopened packs and boxes, basketball cards and high-end modern rookie cards have all come along for the ride. Technology has played a role and down time many have experienced this year hasn’t hurt either.
KUSA-TV in Denver visited with company founder Brian Drent, who talked about just how much business has picked up, and with long-time high-end collector Marshall Fogel.
