Yankees World Series Ring Stolen

A New York Yankees World Series ring was stolen last week from inside the desk of a minor league clubhouse manager.

Trenton Thunder employee Tom “Tonto” Kackley, had gotten the ring less than a week earlier.

The rings were given to all full-time employees of the Yankees organization after the team beat the Philadelphia Phillies in the 2009 World Series.  Trenton is a Yankees’ AA affiliate team.

The Mercer County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the apparent heist.

The ring could be worth $10,000 or more.  It’s not the first Yankees World Series ring to turn up missing this month, although the details in this case aren’t nearly as titillating as those in the first.  Read more in the Middletown Press.
