Yankees Loss Cost Steiner

Fans tired of seeing big market, big money teams advance in the playoffs aren’t complaining about it, but losses by the Red Sox and Yankees cost Steiner Sports at least $1 million in revenue according to the company’s CEO.

Brandon Steiner’s New Rochelle, New York-based company has deals with both teams to sell memorabilia and the Yankees and Bosox  are far and away the biggest sellers.

The Red Sox went out with a whimper, collapsing down the final stretch of the regular season.

The 27-time World Series champion Yankees dropped the ALDS to the Detroit Tigers, who are now locked in battle with the Texas Rangers.

The Philadelphia Phillies are out, too, having been eliminated by the Cardinals Saturday night, taking away another big fan/collector base.

Some milestones achieved by Yankee greats have helped sell product, though, according to this story in Bloomberg News.
