Winnipeg Card Shop Owner Always Hoping for Another Big Score

The Black Swamp Find is proof that there are still undiscovered stacks of old baseball cards hiding in closets, attics and basements all over the country.  Not a lot of them anymore, maybe, but they’re out there.

Card shop owners were hoping that the find might motivate some people to see if they could dig something up and get quick cash.

For those who’ve been in the business awhile, the find brought back memories of “walk ins” to shows and stores that happened with fairly regular frequency 25 or 30 years ago.

Joe Daley, owner of Joe Daley Sports Cards and Collectibles, in Winnipeg, was the beneficiary of one such find.

It wasn’t quite as good as finding 700 cards from 1910 in your attic, but it wasn’t bad.  He talked about it with the Winnipeg Sun.
