Whadda ya mean, you don't want the head of a cape buffalo shot by Ted Williams?
The better stuff comes later--at least that's what they say.
The remnants of a brief marraige between Ted Williams and a model in the late 1960s and early 1970s were put up for auction over the weekend in New Hampshire. Bidders from Boston didn't exactly flock 3 1/2 hours north to check it out. An old school SUV driven by Williams--complete with baseball hood ornament, taxidermy featuring some of Williams' safari conquests and even some paintings done by Williams' daughter Claudia were among the items up for grabs.
Most of the interest didn't involve baseball memorabilia collectors and much of it, according to the Boston Globe, either went unsold or for less than market value.
One blogger was painfully honest.
